What is a DMC?
     The Desktop Media Channel is a super widget that connects you directly to favorite interests such as bands, sports teams, and activities.  It is always on so you get up to the minute updates that keeps you informed and lets you in on special “user only” promotions.

How do I add an event to my Calendar?
     Click Add Event under the calendar.  Fill in the appropriate information and click Save.

How do I synch my calendar with MS Outlook™?

How do I add a Tab to the MyLinks?
     Right click on or next to a previously created Tab and click Add New Tab.  Name the new Tab and click OK.

How do I add a Link?
     Right click in the main area and click Add New URL.  Name the new link and type in the appropriate URL.  Click OK.

How do I opt-in/out to receive SMS messages?

  • Click Send SMS under the calendar
  • Click the Address Book button
  • Click on My cell phone and click Edit
  • Type in your cell phone number, the country your number is from, select your wireless carrier, and check (or unchceck) the box titled, I opt in for special offer text messages then click OK
  • If your number has changed, uncheck the checkbox and click OK. then go back in and enter your new information and check the checkbox again

How do I add music/videos to my library?
     Click the blue folder button above the Bottom Space and below the MyLinks.  Click the green + button.  Click the Open Media button.  Browse out to where your music is stored then drag and drop it into the media list to the right.

How do I change my weather location?
     Right click on the DMC icon in the system tray and click Settings.  Type in the zip code of where you want to receive the weather from. Click OK.

How do I set the DMC Slideshow as my Screensaver?
     Right click on the DMC icon in the system tray and click Settings.  Click the checkbox at the bottom of the settings that says, Register as default screensaver.  Click OK.

Content Links (The topical links listed above the My Links tabs, next to the Mailbox & Newsletter)

  • Scrolling over the center of the Calendar will make the display area appear.  (If it does not appear when you scroll over it, simply click anywhere within the Calendar to activate the screen.)

  • While navigating within the content links, new pages will open within the display box—to go back a page just hit your Backspace key.

My Links (The blue tabs below the Content Links and above the display box.)

  • If the My Links tabs are not visible, click on ‘My Links’ (in the upper left corner).
  • You can add your own tab—just right click on the blue tabs and select “Add New Tab.”
  • You can add your own links within each of the tabs—just right click in the white area of the display box, within the corresponding tab, and select “Add New URL.”
  • For any link within the My Links, you can choose to be alerted when the content of that URL is updated—just right click on the link, select Edit, then check the box to ‘Alert when this page changes.’

Calendars (Listed to the left of the display.)

  • You can display the calendars by clicking on the calendar you want to view, and then choosing a Day, Week, or Month view.
  • The Wine Calendar contains events and information relating to Wine.  When an event appears in blue text it is a link, double click on it to open the page.
  • My Calendar is your calendar to use.  You can add events to by right clicking within the date, or by selecting ‘Add Event’ on the left.
  • You can synchronize your Calendar with Outlook by right clicking within the Calendar display and selecting ‘Synchronize My Calendar with Outlook.'
  • You may also add additional Calendars by right clicking in the Calendar section on the left and selecting ‘Add New Calendar.'

Settings

  • You may access the Calendar’s settings by right clicking on the Calendar icon in the Taskbar of your computer screen.
  • Within the settings you can make the Calendar images your screen saver, select whether or not to have the Calendar start-up with your computer, change your zip code, and choose how to be alerted of new content.
